myToolbox: Lammer Context Menu

image As we run around in the digital and physical world we sometimes come across tools worth sharing. As such I have decided to start a tag called “myToolbox” dedicated to spreading the word on cool tools. Today is "Lammer Context Menu”.

The context menu within explorer gives you the ability to a load of useful and quick tasks. (makes me think of the PowerUI days – remember “Cmd from here”).

The context menu give you options like:

  • Copy Path
  • Explore Here
  • Command Prompt
  • Path Operations (Move, copy, delete based on advanced wildcards like: delete all folders matching "*\bin\obj")
  • Batch rename files
  • Search
  • Select all files in a folder by extension
  • Mount virtual drivers
  • Register/Unregister COM Modules
  • UAC friendly (Shift to run as administrator)

    • The menu is Windows 7 and UAC aware. (both x86 and x64)
